Interactive Cuisine at North Island
11/28/2010
Neil Wagner, new Executive Chef for North Island in the Seychelles, introduces himself - and his enviable position: "With 20 years of experience, working on six out of seven continents, in some of the best kitchens around the globe, I have found myself in paradise - I'm lucky enough to have probably the best chef's job in the world!"
Wagner is embellishing North Island's "any-menu-any-venue-any-time" concept by personally interacting with guests to determine their individual preferences and creating bespoke dishes targeted to their tastes.
The new chef has also introduced a "food stroll" - where guests walk through the island accompanied by Neil or Vincent, the gardener. Indigenous delicacies are picked and eaten en route as the myriad fruits and vegetables growing on the island are discussed. Ingredients are also collected during the walk to use in creating the guests' evening repast - providing a hands-on interactive dining experience.
