Hwange Park

Hwange National Park is widely regarded as Zimbabwe's premier wildlife sanctuary. Nearly six thousand square miles in size, Hwange boasts around 105 species of mammals, and 410 species of birds. All Zimbabwe's specially protected animals are to be found in Hwange, and it is one of the best reserves in Africa for sightings of rare and beautiful species of antelope such as sable and roan.

Predators occur in high concentrations, and Hwange is one of the few Parks north of South Africa with a good rhino population. In addition to its concentrated species diversity, Hwange is perhaps most famous for its large herds of elephant and Cape buffalo - together with the adjoining Chobe National Park, Hwange is home to the Africa's largest elephant population.
